Inductive brazing is a joining process that has developed into a high-tech brazing process in recent decades. The potential inherent in this process is far from being exhausted. Although many induction brazing systems have been installed in recent years, there are still uncertainties regarding the optimum design of the system technology.
While the energy sources, i.e., the medium- and high-frequency generators, have evolved into increasingly efficient equipment, the energy-transferring components, which are designed to transfer the energy to the brazing component, have not received the same amount of attention.
These energy-transferring components are commonly referred to as inductor coils or inductors. The correct dimensioning as well as the optimal coupling to the respective workpiece section to be brazed are of decisive importance for the effectiveness of an inductive brazing process.
In order to help close any gaps in knowledge here, I have compiled my decades of experience into a book entitled "Inductive Brazing Handbook", which was published at the end of 2014. A second edition was published in December 2017, where minor corrections were made and the content was brought up to date It is the only German-language book that deals with the subject in detail. It can be purchased through the "Shop" for 56 euros. An English translation (2017) also appeals to international interested parties.
